http://www.rustonlincoln.orgThe Squire Creek Louisiana Peach Festival is a family-oriented event held the fourth weekend in June in downtown Ruston, La. Dates for 2008 are June 27-29. The festival includes two arts and crafts venues, one a juried show exclusively for handmade items, and the other, non-juried and open to all type crafts and resale merchandise. Other events include music nightly in Ruston’s historic Railroad Park, antique car shows, parade, food, children’s activities, a pet show, peach eating contest, peach cookery contest, invitational golf tournament, tennis tournament, 5K run, rodeo, diaper derby, and more. Admission charged for nightly music, and for Saturday. Entry fees apply for some events. The festival celebrates its 58th year in 2008, and is the longest-running agriculture festival in Louisiana.
